The aim of the department of pre-university training is to ensure that students achieve the level of knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for the further development of professional educational programs.
The tasks of the department of pre-university training are

 

  • increase the level of general education of representatives of the Kazakh expatriate community (Kazakhs who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan) and creating the necessary conditions for admission to higher and secondary professional educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • increase the level of language training of the citizens of Kazakhstan (Kazakh, Russian, English) for further education by profession in three languages.
  • organization and conduct of educational and educational work familiarizing with the history and culture of the peoples of Kazakhstan, the internal regulations of the university, the rules of residence of foreign citizens in the Republic of Kazakhstan, other legislative acts affecting the rights and duties of listeners.

The department has all the conditions to help the student successfully pass the exams and become a competitive entrant not only in the universities of Kokshetau, but also in the universities of Kazakhstan:

  • teachers who have many years of effective work experience and original scientific and methodological developments in preparation for the CTA (UNT) and training at the university. The best teachers of our university and schools of the city are attracted to work with the students of the department.
  • an effective system of knowledge control, which allows monitoring the mastering of the program materials by the students, and also to adjust the educational process in accordance with the individual needs of the students.
  • professional testing and counseling of a psychologist, helping the learner to understand himself and make an informed choice of the future profession.
  • vocational guidance of students during the entire period of study, helping to get acquainted with the faculties of KSU.
  • Modern demonstration materials used in the educational process.
  • computer classes equipped with multimedia equipment, as well as the latest computer programs for preparation for UNT and CTS.

Formation of a contingent of listeners of the department is carried out by means of placing the state educational order, as well as payment for training at the expense of the citizens' own funds. Free courses are designed for Kazakh nationals who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as for applicants enrolling in the specialty "Education": biology, computer science, physics or chemistry, with in-depth study of English.

Admission procedure
In order to enter to the department of pre-university training, applicants pass complex testing (or end-to-end testing).
Receiving applications to take part in the complex testing is conducted by the admissions committee of Shokan Ualikhanov Kokshetau State University from July 1 to August 10.
Besides the application, applicants submit the following documents to the admission committee
1) the original of the document about the average general (general average), initial professional (technical and vocational), average vocational (post-secondary) education and its annexes; representatives of the Kazakh expatriate community additionally provide a notarized (or certified in the institution of the Republic of Kazakhstan) translation of the document on education and its supplement in the state or Russian language;
2) a copy of the identity document;
3) 6 photos in the size 3x4;
5) medical certificate form 086-U

Complex testing is conducted during the period from August 15 to August 20.
A citizen who comes to the complex testing is presented with a document proving his identity.
Complex testing for representatives of the Kazakh expatriate community is conducted in two subjects: "Kazakh language" or "Russian language" (language of instruction) and "Mathematics".
Complex testing for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan for training in language training is conducted in the subjects "English language" and subject in the direction.
Complex testing takes place from August 15 to August 20.
A citizen who comes to the complex testing is presented with a document proving his identity.
Complex testing for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan is conducted in the subjects "English language" and chosen subject.

The number of test tasks for each subject is 25. The correct answer to each test task is estimated by one score. The duration of complex testing is 1 hour 30 minutes.
In the presence of an equal number of points, preference is given to applicants with the highest average score of the certificate.
The results of the entrance examinations are announced on the day of the exam. Retaking of complex testing is not allowed. A citizen who does not agree with the test results submits an application to the Appeal Commission.
Enrollment in the number of students of the department is carried out by the admission committee from September 20 to September 25.
Education at the department of pre-university training is carried out in full-time. Classes begin on 1 October. The term of study is 9 months (October - June).
After graduation, students receive a certificate of completion of training.
The grounds for expelling students during the training period are:
1) application for the expulsion of the student at his own request;
2) violation of the internal regulations of the university.

Training at the department is conducted in two areas:

  • Increase the level of general education of representatives of the Kazakh foreign diaspora (Kazakh nationals who are not citizens of Kazakhstan) for admission to higher educational institutions

  • increase the level of language training of the citizens of Kazakhstan (Kazakh, Russian, English) for further education by profession in three languages.

Extracurricular activities

Teachers of the department of pre-university training conduct a large extracurricular work: excursions in Kokshetau, visits to museums and theaters, organization of events and concerts, participation in inter-faculty events and sports competitions of the university. The combination of educational and extracurricular work in the study of students from different countries, communication between the students of the department and university students helps to establish friendly relations, promote psychological and cultural adaptation.
