Seminar «the 30th anniversary of the Berlin wall fall»


On October 10, 2019, the Department of foreign languages held a seminar on "the 30th anniversary of the Berlin wall fall ".

The Berlin wall construction began on the 13th of August 1961; the wall had been dividing Berlin for 28 years. At least 140 residents of the GDR who tried to escape to West Berlin were killed near the wall. The destruction of the Berlin wall was a significant event in the history of the XX century and millions of Germans who found themselves on different sides of the border for many years unification start.

The organizers of the event are the German Department 2nd year students. They prepared information and presentation on this topic, showed documentaries, reflecting the historical, political, social, spiritual consequences of the Berlin wall construction and destruction.
